Woman shares ‘revolutionary’ breakfast hack: ‘You’ve been doing it wrong this whole time’

A savvy TikTok user is going viral after sharing her solution for an infamously burdensome breakfast chore.

The user, who goes by the name Katy Bee on social media, has received more than 900,00 views on her problem-solving clip since first sharing it on April 9. In the video, Bee shows her followers a hack for closing cereal boxes.

Instead of linking the box’s flimsy cardboard ends together — as the design seemingly implies — Bee takes a different approach. She folds each of the tabs at the top of the box inward, starting with the sides and then moving to the front and back tabs, while simultaneously pinching the top of the box. The final product? A self-sufficient, airtight seal.

“You've been doing it wrong all this time!” Bee captioned her clip.

(Warning: This video contains explicit language).

“That is how you close your cereal,” Bee says while smiling at the camera.

Bee wasn’t the only one who was satisfied by the hack. Her video has received hundreds of comments, with several users calling the idea “revolutionary” and “a whole new ball game.”

“All this time? I’ve been doing this wrong!” one user wrote.

“What in the witchcraft is this?” another asked.

“Learning more from TikTok than I did in school,” a third person joked.

Others were less impressed. Some users said the hack was unnecessary, noting that Bee’s method requires “too much hard work.”

“Too much effort. I have a plastic cereal container to pour everything in,” one user wrote.

“I just tear the whole top apart,” another joked.

Bee’s video is just the latest snack-based hack to go viral on social media in recent weeks. In early April, a solution for closing potato chip bags also took the internet by storm — even earning the approval of “Top Chef” host Padma Lakshmi.
