E-girls are the current “it” girls of internet and teen culture, creating a beauty style all their own. And a core part of the e-girl makeup look is black hearts on heavily blushed cheeks. The ultra feminine look is inarguably adorable, but is seemingly on the cusp of becoming a cliché as it applies to teen girls today.

It’s unclear why or how the makeup stamp trend first took root in teen culture, but it definitely started gaining popularity on Instagram and TikTok. Since then, many brands have come out with heart stamps featuring an eyeliner-like ink formula for easy application. Arguably the first to do so, before e-girls were even a thing, was Milk Makeup. The brand launched its tattoo stamps in early 2017, which included a heart and several other cutesy shapes.

In an effort to branch off the heart trend, many Gen Z teens have gravitated toward different stamp shapes to make the easy makeup trend fresh again. From moons for the witchy to aliens for the unapologetically weird to dollar signs for the money motivated, there are various stamps to accentuate the already bold looks found in Gen Z beauty.

Check out these stamps — from Milk Makeup and other beauty brands — that will give a fresh twist to the heart stamp trend.
