Venus Williams wants women to feel like 'an 11 out of 10' in her new activewear collection

Venus Williams is widely and deservingly considered one of the greatest athletes of all time, having been ranked No. 1 by the Women’s Tennis Association on three separate occasions and earning seven Grand Slam singles titles in her career, thus far.

While she is arguably one of the G.O.A.Ts in the sports world, the respected athlete is also revered in the fashion space through her line, EleVen. Most recently, the brand, which intersects her passions for athletics and fashion, launched another collection that Williams considers to be one of her best offerings yet.

Speaking exclusively with In The Know, Williams delved into the specifics of what makes this collection an outstanding addition to the athletic wear space. She also revealed what her favorite piece from the line is — Hint: like many women, she loves a good legging! — and even shared a special code that helps customers save some money while shopping the pieces.

What was the main inspiration behind the aesthetic and vibe of this collection?

My inspiration behind the Geometric Collection is the chic and fabulous EleVen women who wear our designs. This collection features comfortable, easy to wear, fashion-forward activewear staples like tanks, leggings and bralettes that make a perfect outfit for at-home workouts or hanging out. I want women to feel like they are an 11 out of 10 when they wear this collection even if it’s just at home right now!

What inspired the name “Geometric” for this launch?

When I think of geometric designs, I think of straight lines and shapes, mixed with black and white and felt that’s exactly what this collection is, Geometric. Throughout this collection, you’ll see flattering lines and amazing perforated mesh in white and black that is infused in key pieces. The collection is grounded in black and white but I’ve also added some pops of pink for some flare!

This collection is said to be “a seamless blend of fashion and function.” How does Geometric differentiate from your recent Glam collection launch, and what would you say is your favorite piece from the line?

I’ve always loved fashion and fitness, and each collection is an opportunity for me to blend these two loves together. It’s also important for me to create premium activewear to help you perform and push your limits. I pour my heart into each collection I design, so it’s very hard for me to pick one piece as my favorite – but I really do love the leggings in this collection! Not only is the fit amazing, but they’re great for all of the workouts I’ve been doing at home as the leggings are designed with four-way stretch, EleVen Ozone for maximum protection from harmful UVA & UVB rays and EleVen Pro-Dri for quick-dry performance and superior breathability.

What are three must-have basics and staples you need in your everyday wardrobe?

For me, it’s all about comfortable and stylish pieces with pops of color. A few staples in my closet are a fun dress which inspired me to design one for EleVen, a pair of EleVen workout pants that I can wear from training to the office for meetings later in the day, and a leather jacket because it goes with just about everything! Right now, I’ve been living in all of my EleVen gear to stay comfortable as I work and train from home.
