Skincare brands today try their best to combine effective formulations with visually appealing aesthetics, but based on customers’ responses, few tend to successfully strike this balance.

One brand that has proven to execute this goal, as seen in the cult following its range of flagship skincare products has amassed, is Drunk Elephant. Now, after dominating the beauty space, the brand is expanding with the launch of its two newest collections of hair and body products, currently available at Sephora.

Urging its shoppers to “get drunk head to toe,” the new line of products sees the female-founded company venture into two spaces it hasn’t before. Consisting of a seven-product range from shampoo to cream deodorant, the brand has covered all the bases when it comes to maintaining and up-keeping healthy hair and body care practices.

Specifically speaking on the hair products with New Beauty, Drunk Elephant founder Tiffany Masterson said she got the stamp of approval from Jennifer Aniston’s hairstylist Chris McMillan while formulating the line.

“We were at a friend’s birthday party, we arrived at the same time,” she said. “He said when we were walking up the sidewalk, ‘We should do a hair line.’ And so I was like, yes, great. That was five years ago. I knew I could formulate interesting and innovative products, and I knew Chris could then test them out on different hair all day, everyday and give me the feedback I needed to get things right.”

The hair collection consists of four products which she says took nearly two years to develop. Throughout this time, they were formulated without what DE calls the “Suspicious 6” — any essential oils, alcohols, silicones, chemical sunscreens, fragrances/dyes and sodium laureth sulfate (SLS). Speaking of the brand’s new line of body care products, Masterson added that she was thoughtful in formulating items that “respected” the skin “from head to toe.”

“Skin is skin — and whether we call it the scalp or the eye area or the legs, it can only function at its healthiest when it’s treated with smart, nourishing, skin-compatible ingredients,” she said in press materials. “All skin deserves to be respected.”

Among the three-product body care range, likely the item that customers are most anticipating is the Sweet Pitti Deodorant Cream. Currently standing as the most affordable product of the entire line at $16, it’s formulated without the “Suspicious 6.”
