Beauty knows no age. That’s why every week, we’ll be featuring real people, experts and professionals from every generation to get the low-down on the best beauty tips and hidden hacks when it comes to their everyday routines. From hair care for women over 50 to the lip color every Gen-Zer needs to own, these are the game-changing secrets that you never knew you needed.

In a saturated world of 20-somethings filling up our social media feed, Grece Ghanem, 56, is the refreshing approach to fashion we all need.

The Canadian-based personal trainer, whose daily wardrobe looks like she pulls straight-off-the-runway from Paris Fashion Week, has quickly become my favorite person to follow on Instagram. With an elevated personal style made up of bold hues, statement coats and “new Bottega,” Grece’s glowing complexion is another trait that cannot go unnoticed. In fact, Vogue called her the “new icon of ageless style.”

In The Know caught up with Grece to learn the ins-and-outs of her impeccable skin. From her favorite SPF to the skincare device she deemed her best-kept secret, read on to achieve the best complexion in your 50s.

What beauty product can’t you live without and why?

I love the By Terry Lip Baume de Rose lip care, it is so nourishing, the texture is smooth and the smell is heavenly. Living in Canada where the winter is long and cold, this lip balm keeps my lips silky soft and protects them from the harsh weather. A little goes a long way, so a jar lasts me very long!

The one beauty product you would take with you on a deserted island?

SPF, never underestimate the benefits of sun protection for your skin. My personal favorite is the Physical Fusion by SkinCeuticals.

What are your hidden hacks or secrets when it comes to your everyday beauty?

In the last two years, I have integrated skincare devices like the Foreo, the ReFa and a dermaroller in my skin routine. I also enjoy doing sheet masks and other various masks. Sleeping on a satin pillowcase to prevent hair and skin damage is a little beauty secret. I also use aloe vera from my aloe plant in my smoothies as it is rich in collagen for both hair and skin.

What is the one thing everyone should avoid when it comes to skincare?

A cleanser is usually the first step of any skincare routine. However, some cleansers can do more harm than good especially those with high levels of alcohol that dry up your skin and strip it from its nutrients. Avoid any cleanser that leaves your face feeling tight and dry after washing it.

Do you have a 5-minute makeup routine?

Yes, I am a huge advocate of a natural look so my makeup routine is very minimal. I apply a clear gel to my eyebrows and a layer of mascara to the lashes. That’s it! (MAC Brow Set and Chanel Le Volume)

Ultimately Grece revealed that the true secret to having amazing skin in your 50s comes from within. “I believe having amazing skin starts by taking care of yourself from the inside, eating healthy, drinking lots of water and exercise on a regular basis,” she told In The Know. “

Something she wishes everyone in their 20’s knew? “Beauty as well as having self- confidence and embracing yourself fully in every stage of your life. Also, I believe that cosmetics and beauty products give us a boost during challenging times, and these should not overwhelm us but give us strength and joy!” she told us.
