It goes without saying that the weather doesn’t hold up for anyone, no matter the occasion. With this in mind, the only thing one can do is find ways to work around the elements and the folks at Hairbrella have found the perfect solution that bridges the gap between fashion and function.

Founded and invented by Spelman College alumna Tracey Pickett, Hairbrella was designed to support the entrepreneur’s mission: empower women to conquer the world without worrying about the weather.

Described as “the rain hat reinvented,” this genius product was created with the sole purpose of keeping the hair dry and style protected, no matter the forecast.

The Hairbrella is 100 percent waterproof, with an exterior of thin, lightweight microfiber material. Attached to the front is a PVC visor that shields the face from the elements. This feature also protects makeup from any exposure to rain.

In addition to the external shield it provides, the Hairbrella also keeps the hairstyle protected and ensures that it remains soft and moisturized thanks to its satin-lined interior.

For further convenience and applying a one-size-fits-all element to the product, the revolutionary haircare item boasts an elastic band that secures it to any head shape and a built-in storage pouch for easy break-down and portability.

Shoppers have praised the Hairbrella for its “well-thought-out design” and “outstanding quality.”

“I purchased this for my wife and she absolutely loves it!” one five-star reviewer wrote. “She couldn’t stop talking about how there is finally a solution that actually helps keep her hair dry in inclement weather.”

The same reviewer highlighted that “she loves the style and the fact that it folds into itself so she can keep it in her bag at all times.”

Another shopper added that she appreciated that the Hairbrella “doesn’t crush” her curls and that her head “is always kept at a comfortable temperature no matter how long I wear the Hairbrella for… Well worth the money and wait!”

A couple of shoppers outlined one criticism, however, in the product’s adjustable strap. They mention that it would be useful if there was a way to hide the exposed end once the Hairbrella is fully tightened, for some head shapes. Nonetheless, they outlined that this is a small criticism that can easily be overlooked when taking into account the major benefits this product provides.
