As a super fan of the Brooklyn-based bedding brand Brooklinen, I basically live and breathe for the company’s new products.

Since the company’s launch of its Internet-famous Luxe Sateen Sheets — which have now garnered more than 50,000 positive reviews and are the dreamiest buttery-soft sheets you’ll ever feel — the brand has become a way to build out your personal sleep oasis. With silk pillowcases, loungewear and even furniture and home decor that embodies the “Brooklinen aesthetic,” the brand will totally convince you to start investing more in your quality of sleep.

After the booming popularity of weighted blankets, it makes sense that Brooklinen would also venture into the competitive space — but with a twist. Brooklinen’s newest product is a weighted comforter, and it’s available in the same sizes as traditional comforters from twin to California king.

Weighted blankets are said to help reduce anxiety and insomnia, and this weighted comforter is meant to have some of the same calming effects. Designed to feel like a big hug, which I can totally get behind, the weighted comforter can be used on your bed, but it works great for couch-lounging, too.

Plus, since size the comforter comes in five different weights from 15 to 35 pounds, you can select the weight that works best for your needs. Brooklinen also suggests a good rule of thumb is to select one that is 10 percent of your body weight if you won’t be adding it to your bedding.

If you’re also thinking, “Why would I want so much weight on me while sleeping?” — I’m with you. But Brooklinen suggests to test out how the comforter feels by only using it on your legs for the first five nights. Then for the next few days, try it on half of your body, and if that feels comfortable to you, then to move on to trying it out the full blanket.

In case you decided to take the leap and swap your current comforter for this weighted version, it comes equipped with duvet loops to attach a duvet cover. But since the weighted blanket is lined with a 400-thread count sateen cotton shell, you might just fall love with its feel and not need a duvet cover. Below, you can shop the comforter starting at $249. It’ll be worth the weight!
