This Drake song has sparked a hilarious social media challenge
A popular Drake song has led to a wave of extremely amusing social media clips that are set to a specific verse.
In 2018, the Toronto rapper released “Scorpion,” his fifth studio album. Among its list of classic tracks is “Nonstop,” which was produced by Tay Keith, No I.D. and Noel Cadastre. The song was such a hit that it peaked at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Since the single’s release, the song’s accompanying music video has received over 72 million views on YouTube.
At the start of the song, Drake raps, “Look, I just flipped a switch (Flipped, flipped) / I don’t know nobody else that’s doin’ this / Bodies start to drop, ayy (Hit the floor) / Now they wanna know me since I hit the top, ayy.”
The verse sparked a 2018 meme in which participants would flip a switch and something dramatic would, in turn, happen when they turned the lights back on. Amid rumors that Drake is set to release a new album in 2020, Instagram and TikTok users have revived the meme by switching outfits with their partners.
