YouTuber shares friend's embarrassing texts on billboard: 'You're so wrong for that'

A popular YouTuber decided to play a hilarious prank on a friend who had drunkenly texted his assistant by sharing those messages on a giant billboard.

Last Monday, David Dobrik, a 23-year-old YouTube personality who initially went viral on the now-defunct platform Vine, shared a vlog in which he came across text messages that his buddy Toddy Smith sent to Dobrik's assistant, Natalie Mariduena.

In a car with Mariduena and others, Dobrik tells his friends that Smith got incredibly inebriated and texted Mariduena between 3 and 4 a.m. one morning.

"Can you just stay up for a sec," Smith apparently texted. "Hello. Can I stay w u or not. U break my heart. ok ur the worst."

Smith then continued to text Mariduena with pleas of desperation.

"I feel like i ruined my shot w u lol," he wrote. "Ok can we pls cuddle tomorrow NATALIE."

Smith later realized that he had messed up and simply texted Mariduena "fml." Dobrik's assistant, however, seemingly took it in stride and texted back, "U crazy CraZ."

Still, Dobrik felt obligated to teach Smith a lesson about drunk texting and proceeded to buy space on a billboard and publicly shame him. Footage of the billboard shows a screenshot of Smith's drunk conversation with Mariduena alongside a photo of him.

Dobrik first reveals the billboard to his other friends, many of whom can't believe that he pulled the prank.

"Oh my God!" one exclaims.

"Please tell me you didn't do this to me too," another tells Dobrik.

When Smith finally sees the billboard, he can't seem to believe his eyes.

"Oh my God!" he yells. "What the f**k? Are you kidding me?"

Smith then tries to play it off, claiming that Mariduena appeared to show mutual interest when she responded to one of an Instagram story that he had taken in Colorado.

"She replied, 'Miss being warm in your arms,'" he tells Dobrik.

Mariduena, however, laughs it off, saying, "I'm just f***ing with him."

Dobrik's video has since gone viral, receiving more than 10 million views and nearly 15,000 comments on YouTube. He also shared the incident on Twitter, where it received approximately 40,000 retweets.

"You're so wrong for that and i love it," one Twitter user responded.

"You are living proof of the devil lmao," another joked.
