60 of the most breathtakingly gorgeous Oscars dresses of all time

There is nothing quite like the Oscars.

Hollywood's biggest night is taking place this Sunday, honoring the film world's biggest achievements over the past year. And though it's been a rocky year for Hollywood, we're expecting the 2020 red carpet to remain as glamorous as ever.

It's the Olympics for fashion enthusiasts -- and we can't wait.

To commemorate the upcoming awards show, we're revisiting the most gorgeous looks over the award show's 90-year history. From intricate beading, exquisite lace and dramatic trains, the Oscars pre-show never disappoints.

Making up these spectacular looks include Julianne Moore's white beaded Chanel ensemble which she donned to the awards show in 2015. Frieda Pinto stunned in a royal blue lace gown designed by John Galliano at the 2009 extravaganza, while Naomi Watts took our breath away in a sequined one-shoulder Armani frock in 2013.

But Cate Blanchett sported one of our favorite looks in Oscar history: a powder blue Armani gown with 3D florals. The 2016 ensemble also featured a plunging neckline, a risque look for the ever-fashionable actress.
