Susan Lucci's complete style transformation: From '70s mini dresses to figure-hugging ball gowns

It seems that Susan Lucci is not only the queen of daytime television, but of red carpet fashion as well.

The soap opera star, who recently turned 71, has been taking over the red carpet since her early days on All My Children. Lucci has starred as everyone's favorite (or most hated) character Erica Kane since the 1970s -- and with a career spanning over 40 decades, there's no doubt Lucci's style transformation is one for the books.

Soap opera fans watched as Lucci skyrocketed to fame in the 70s and 80s, rocking red carpet appearances in true decade style. She dabbled in eccentric printed gowns, ruffles extreme shoulder pads and bulky jewelry, eventually trading in for cleavage-showing mini dresses and tailored gowns of the 90s.

But in the most recent years, it's obvious Lucci has found her fashion sweet spot: A safe balance of Hollywood glamour mixed with Lucci's iconic flare. She's also tried her hand at bigger prints and bolder colors, from reds, yellows and magentas.

One of our favorite Lucci looks? A bright yellow strapless mermaid gown that she donned at the Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in 2017, which showed off her tiny figure and bearing cleavage.

Risque, figure-forming red carpet gowns has made Lucci one of the most entertaining red carpet stars to-date.
