2019 brought us a lot of life-altering inventions, like ice cream made out of vegetables, an Alexa-controlled smart toilet and an interactive mirror that works out with you. But we have to say, our MVP product of the year is the ever-glamorous auto-curler, which does the hard work of perfecting your hairstyle for you.

Of course, the automatic curler wasn't actually launched this year (the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Professional Curl Machine has been a top-rated product for years), but 2019 has gifted us one top-rated auto curler after another. It's no wonder that it's become one of the beauty world's most in-demand gadgets.

The auto curler styles your locks for you either by drawing hair into a chamber or automatically rotating the heated wand, eliminating all the guesswork, sweat and stress that normally accompanies using a curling iron. These nifty gadgets have slashed our morning routines in half, saved us a boatload of time (and money) spent at the salon and have taken the awkward arm twists and neck cramps out of styling our own hair.

While there are plenty of auto curlers on the market, we've done the work for you and found some of the top-rated auto-curlers devices currently available. One of the most affordable best-sellers is Conair's InfinitiPro, which is currently on sale for 40 percent off.

INFINITIPRO BY CONAIR Curl Secret

What: INFINITIPRO BY CONAIR Curl Secret

Price: $47.99 (Orig. $79.99)

Rating: 3.7 stars out of 5 and 4,000 reviews on Amazon

"Hair goes in and curl comes out!" vows CONAIR's Curl Secret, which is made with Tourmaline Ceramic technology to help remove frizz and instead add shine. The device has three timer settings (8, 10 and 12 seconds, depending on the desired curl), but it only heats up to 400°F, which is lower than some of the other bestsellers included on this list.

Nonetheless, one reviewer wrote that it worked well with her long hair and even held the curl for almost four days.

"Incredible product. I have long thick hair that does hold a curl rather well but I could never curl my hair myself because my arms would get tired," the reviewer, who goes by Lynda, shared. "I did my whole head In like 20 mins (the curliest setting) and I pinned the curls while they set and I got ready. I did this on Saturday morning for a bachelorette weekend and it was a huge hit with the girls. Now it’s a full 4 days later, and with dry shampoo, the curls have managed to keep shape, though not as tight obviously."

CHI Spin N Curl

WhatCHI Spin N Curl

Price: $79.99 (Orig. $109.99)

Rating: 4.5 stars out of 5 and 1,171 reviews on Amazon

This Chi device doesn't just offer a customizable styling experience for users, but it also strives to eliminate frizz and heat damage through the product's ceramic heat technology. Plus, with three different temperature options (370°F suggested for fine hair, 390°F for medium and 410°F for coarse hair), the 1.9-pound device promises perfect curls every time. The best part about the device is its dual voltage, so good hair doesn't have to stop when you leave the country!

Amazon users have given the gadget overwhelmingly positive feedback, with one reviewer who goes by Madi's Mom calling it a "game changer."

"Finally! I'm 33 and suck at being a girl, but on occasion it's nice to feel like I actually made a little effort to get ready for a date night with the hubby or whatever. Thanks to this little gem I can finally curl my hair without ending up with burnt hands, ears, face, or hair. This is the first time using and I can't believe how well it turned out. It doesn't hold or pull your hair like some of those curling tools. It's a little awkward to do the back, but that'll come with practice I guess. Looks way better than any attempt I've made with a curling or flat iron."

Conair Unbound Cordless Auto Curler

What: Conair Unbound Cordless Auto Curler, $99

Price: $99

Rating: 4.6 stars out of 5 and 69 reviews at Target

Conair debuted the industry's first high-performance cordless auto curler at the end of last year, handing customers full-volume curls and waves on the go. While the product needs to be charged every few days for optimal use (it stays charged for only an hour at a time), it's an easy-to-use device that doesn't confine users to an outlet in their bathroom. With three heat settings and four timer settings, this small, compact device is truly personalizable for every customer.

One purchaser left a review on Target's website, calling it "the best curler I've found."

"I've tried so many curlers but I have to say this is the best I've found because it is so lightweight and easy to use. I can take it anywhere with me and travelling it's so easy to pack. And, most of all, it did a great job with my hair giving me natural looking curls for the holidays. My bff thought I'd been to the salon."

BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Professional Curl Machine

What: BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Professional Curl Machine

Price: $129.95

Rating: 4 stars out of 5 and 664 reviews on Amazon

The BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Professional Curl Machine has become an Amazon choice product due to its salon-worthy curls and unique features. The gadget offers three different heat settings (375°F, 410°F and 450°F, but users should consult the guide for temperature selection), an automatic shut-off, three different curl directions and three different timer settings.

Reviewers maintain that the device is very easy to get the hang of and results in soft, bouncy curls.

"I am not one to write reviews... but seriously, after I tried his product and was VERY skeptical about it in the first place, I had to come back and write a review. I have researched all brands of these curlers and watch way too many videos on the pros and cons!" wrote happy customer Elizabeth, who also shared a snapshot of her hair after using the product. "I decided to try it and after one use I seriously am in love 😍 It took me no longer than 15 minutes and just to try it out I used the hottest setting with the longest time in alternate directions."

Beachwaver PRO Curling Iron

What: Beachwaver PRO Curling Iron

Price: $199.00

Rating: 4.4 stars out of 5 and 233 reviews on Ulta

Beachwaver's popular PRO curling iron is one of the brand's best-rated products -- and for good reason. Developed by celebrity stylist Sarah Potempa and her sister, Erin, this innovative curling iron was in production for over two years before hitting the market and leaves customers' locks looking red-carpet ready in no time.

One Ulta reviewer, who has tried everything from hot rollers to many different curlers, called the Beachwaver creation the "best hair tool ever."

"I have gone through MANY curlers, hot rollers, Bonnet dryers w/rollers...all time consuming and not guaranteed to even keep the style after I walk out the door. For the first time ever, my curls/waves stay intact all day long and only takes me 10 - 15 minutes in the morning. As an example, I have attached a photo of my hair at the end of a workday (11hrs after styling). Windblown from walking around the city, but the curls are still there. No pre-product was used. Only a finishing spray."

Margot Robbie in 2016

Margot Robbie this winter

Kieran:

"Margot’s hair gives her a modern interpretation of ‘Old Hollywood’ glamour. A much more linear line shows off her bone structure and the richer blonde brings out her beautiful blue eyes. The focus here is all cheek bones and eyes: Sleek, polished, beautiful."

Khloe Kardashian in 2015

Khloe Kardashian in 2017

Kieran:

"This gives Khloe a more sophisticated look. It’s strong with an edge but is still long enough to be sexy. The move away from the paler beige blond towards a more golden blonde softens the look and adds dimension complimenting her skin tone: Elegant and sophisticated."

Lucy Hale in 2011

Lucy Hale in 2018

Kieran:

"The change in Lucy Hale’s hair has taken her from a ‘sweet girl’ look to a sexier, edgier look. The shorter hair makes those beautiful eyes the star attraction.  The dark, rich color gives the look it’s strength whilst the textured ends give it its softness: Sexy, strong with edge."

Rachel McAdams in 2012

Rachel McAdams in 2016

Kieran:

"Rachel’s new look accentuates her neck line and the softness around the face, her cheekbones. This length makes her hair look fuller, more robust and the color is a warmer, golden tone. The warmer blond compliments her skin tone: Strong but still fun and flirty."

Bella Hadid in 2016

Bella Hadid in 2017

Kieran:

"The move away from long all one length gives more interest to Bella’s look and the center part allows the shorter style to frame her features perfectly. The rich brunette color works well for her skin tone and makes her eye color really pop: Classically beautiful."

Jenna Dewan in 2007

Jenna Dewan in 2018

Kieran:

"This length on Jenna is a real statement length. No hiding behind hair here, it really opens up her face. Her check bones prominently come to the fore and the deep, lush, rich brunette color intensifies her amazing green eyes. Sultry and stunning."

Kim Kardashian in 2012

Kim Kardashian this summer

Kieran:

"Ever the hair chameleon, this look really compliments her jaw line, elongates her neck and accentuates her cheek bones. The rich color compliments her eye color perfectly because of the way it frames her face. The dichotomy of the deep, dark brown hair next to the whites of her eyes, makes the caramel in her eyes stand out: Rich, lustrous and bold."
