Get your sunglasses ready: 2020 is about to be one bright and colorful year, according to Etsy.

The online craft marketplace released its predictions for the year ahead, and based on trending searches on the site, Etsy’s trend expert and NBC's "Making It" judge, Dayna Isom Johnson, has already coined 2020 as the Year of Purpose.

Johnson told In The Know, "2020 will be a year for new beginnings and making meaningful change, and the Year of Purpose is all about making mindful choices — including what we purchase — as we begin this new decade.

"Shoppers will be putting more thought into what they buy than ever before, considering both the environmental and social impact of each purchase that they make," Johnson continued.

Judging by her insight, it comes as no surprise that personalization is a major trend for fashion and lifestyle, as is putting a modern spin on trends from bygone eras like the 1950s, 1960s and 1980s.

Ready to be influenced? Here is what you're likely to see a lot more of over the next 12 months.

1. Chartreuse

While it might not be the Pantone color of the year — that's classic blue, FYI — Etsy predicts that bold, unabashed chartreuse is going to be an equally popular shade. Searches for the hue have reportedly been up by 55 percent in the last three months, according to Etsy's analytics.

2. Back to the 1980s

Don't pack your retro-inspired party frocks away anytime soon. Etsy revealed that searches for puff sleeves are up by 39 percent, while there's also been a 10 percent increase for garments with shoulder pads. The omnipresent chain belt is set to remain an integral trend too, with a 32 percent surge in searches over the past three months.

3. Matching wedding jackets

It might be almost 20 years since Britney and Justin's unforgettable synchronized denim ensembles, but couples seemingly still have a penchant for dressing in harmony. Particularly on their big day: Etsy is putting good money on 'matching wedding jackets' taking off as searches have jumped by 15 percent in recent months. Could Mrs. Hailey Bieber be to blame?

4. Bespoke Beauty

Etsy has noticed a demand for small-batch, custom beauty products, as shoppers lean towards more personalized and/or natural formulas. According to the team, there has been a 13 percent increase in searches for custom beauty, a 19 percent boom in searches for custom perfume and a 15 percent increase in inquiries for custom soap.

5. Pet wellness

Everyone is getting in on the self-care game. Yes, even your pets. Etsy predicts that in 2020, handmade beds, custom treats featuring your furry friend's name and craft pet shampoo will sell quickly on site this year.

6. Color blocking

Monochrome is back. According to Etsy, there's been a 7 percent increase in searches for this vibrant, retro-inspired approach (which was all the rage in the 1950s and 1960s.) Dayna says, "Color blocking is a simple way to add instant personality to any room, whether incorporating color-blocked pillows, wall art, or even tabletop decor."
