Function of Beauty asks customers to take a short quiz on their hair goals—in other words, what kind of care does your hair need? Customers can then choose a scent and color of their products, and get their name printed right on the bottles. The brand started with creating custom shampoo and conditioner four years ago and since has expanded its product line to leave-in conditioner, and most recently in October, hair serum and a hair mask.

The hair mask is a weekly deep conditioning treatment that works to nourish and hydrate dry, damaged and dull hair. According to the product description, it's made with a blend of Japanese sake extract, argan oil, jojoba ester oil and a custom blend of other natural ingredients, depending on your hair's needs. You can use it in the shower after you shampoo and follow it up with a drop of the hair serum (which uses a lot of the same ingredients) before styling. The serum is lightweight and can help add shine to your hair and smooth out any unwanted frizz.
Customers on Function of Beauty's website and social media can't enough of the products and the way it makes their hair feel. Some Twitter users call it "wizardry" and say the products totally transformed their hair.
