Unexpected foreign city has the most Instagrammed site in the world

If you've seen your Instagram followers vacationing in the same spots this year, there's a good reason for that.

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest luxury hotel brand, launched InterContinental ICons, an in-depth look at how travelers experience the places they visit heading into 2020. Its latest initiative carried out an independent study in Paris, London, New York, Shanghai, Dubai, Sydney and Mexico City and it revealed nearly 77 percent of travelers felt obligated to see each city's most popular tourist sites. The desire to see the most picturesque locales, in turn, increased the number of Instagram posts in each city -- with the Eiffel Tower in Paris being titled the most-posted tourist site, representing 10 percent of all posts worldwide.
