Moschino debuts latest collection on the NYC subway

Models walked through New York City subway cars on Monday, Dec. 9, debuting the Moschino Pre-Fall 2020 collection with celebrities like Kacey Musgraves, Madelaine Petch and Kim Petras sitting front row (er, bench). Luckily, for NYC commuters, the show took place at the New York Transit Museum in Brooklyn instead of holding up the actual MTA.

Nonetheless, the setting was perfect for Jeremy Scott's urban cool style. Runway looks featured hoodies, combat boots, tweed jackets, loud prints and, of course, gold chains—all extremely oversized. (One Fashionista writer described a bag from the show as so big it was nearly the size of an arm chair.) The looks were almost caricatures of longtime New Yorkers from every borough and neighborhood, and the things they might see during their everyday routine.

“New York is the city that never sleeps,'” Scott wrote in his show notes. “With that in mind, I wanted to offer a little bit of everything. A round-the-clock set of ensembles for city girls and guys who aren’t afraid to go from the ballroom to the back room, then watch the sun come up over the East River.”

Still, with all things big and poppin', the line featured plenty of wearables, from a fur stole and a long camo puffer jacket to brightly-colored sweater dresses and not-so-basic sweats.
