Love Your Melon hats will do more than keep your head warm. The brand, known for creating high-quality beanies starting at $25, aims to give back to children battling cancer.

Love Your Melon started out as a class project at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn. by Zachary Quinn and Brian Keller. The two friends officially launched the business in 2012 with a mission to improve the lives of children battling cancer, starting out with a "buy one, give one model." The brand became so successful, however, that they were making more hats to donate than there were children with cancer in the U.S., according to CNBC.

Since then, they've switched to donating to charities; they've donated over $6.2 million to charity and given away over 185,000 hats. Fifty percent of net profits from the sale of all Love Your Melon products is supports nonprofit charities fighting against pediatric cancer, creating therapeutic experiences and to fund programming initiatives for children and families in the fight against cancer. Money is also donated through the Love Your Melon Fund, which is powered by The Tides Center. (You can learn more about the charities they're working with here.)

So here's how you can help: Shop for yourself or gift a Love Your Melon item this holiday season and in turn, help children in need. The brand has also expanded into other categories beyond hats, including scarves, mittens, blankets, sweaters and more. But, their most popular product has to be the beanies.

The beanies come in several styles—slouchy, with pom poms on top, with a cuff, with faux fur—and colors. They even have a new collaboration with Disney that launched on Monday, Dec. 9!
