Trump dressed with a blue tie for the occasion, but it was Melania's school bus yellow cape coat by Valentino stole the show. She paired the bright coat, which retails for $7,700, with violet "So Kate" stilettos from Christian Louboutin and her go-to blowout.

While many Twitter users were quick to comment on the color of the coat, with one even comparing it to Big Bird from "Sesame Street," other fans of FLOTUS called the bold choice "stunning."

"@FLOTUS looks like she dressed up in a comic superhero character character," wrote one critic. Said another, "Big Bird called. He wants his outfit back."

"We have the most gorgeous @FLOTUS in the history of this country," wrote one fan.

The first couple later left Clarence House to meet with the queen and other dignitaries at Buckingham Palace to mark the 70th anniversary of the NATO alliance.

Melania and President Trump had previously joined Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla for tea during their last visit to London six months ago, where the biggest moment of the meeting was "cheeky" wink from the duchess.
