The Ring Video Doorbell is one of Amazon's best-selling tech items, with over 38,000 reviews and a four-star rating, that aims to provide your home with security (and with a little luck, a few funny encounters). This Cyber Monday, it's on sale for $150 off and comes with an Amazon Echo Show 5 for an additional $10.
The Ring Video Doorbell 2 adds a few updates to the original: It is a bit thicker in size and has 1080p HD video resolution, so the picture is clearer. Videos captured can be sent to your phone, tablet or computer, where you can also speak to any visitors. This version also includes a battery pack or if you prefer, can be installed through existing doorbell wires, which should only take you 15 minutes to install, according to the description.

One reviewer, who called out that the Ring Doorbell's camera is only as strong as your internet connection, still had a positive review:
"I feel like this was a great purchase. The price is excellent. I love being able to access it anytime from my phone. I love knowing what is going on at my house even when I’m on vacation. I love the security aspect both in surveillance and as a deterrent. It looks sharp (see photo). It’s also a lot of fun. I’ve shown it off to many friends and coworkers, at least one of which decided to get one themselves."
However, with Amazon's Cyber Monday deal, you also get an Amazon Echo Show 5 with the video doorbell for no additional cost. You can connect it to the Echo Show to enable alerts when the doorbell is pressed or motion is detected, and see who is at the door. You can also ask Alexa to talk to visitors through the doorbell, so you don't ever have to open the door to a stranger.
Beyond using it for security, the Echo Show 5 is basically a cross between Amazon Alexa and a tablet. It's compact with a 5.5-inch screen and can manage your calendar, make to-do lists, get weather and traffic updates, cook along with recipes, watch movies and shows, listen to music, call friends or family with other Echo and Alexa devices and more.
The Ring Video Doorbell 2 and Amazon Echo Show 5 bundle retails regularly for $288.99, but on Dec. 2 , get it for $139. That means that the bundle gives you about $150 off the doorbell and a $10 Echo Show (the Ring Doorbell on its own is on sale for $129).
One thing we should note, however, is that Ring came under fire last week after senators sent a letter to Amazon claiming that the internet-connected doorbells could pose national security concerns. Ring is currently reviewing the letter, however, no risks have been officially announced.
