Julianne Hough posts heartbreaking tribute to her dogs who passed away on the same day

Julianne Hough is mourning the loss of her two dogs, who passed away on the same day last month.

The "Dancing with the Stars" alum shared a tribute to her pups Harley and Lexi on her Instagram over the weekend, revealing the two Cavalier King Charles pups both passed away on Sept. 28th.

"Pure love is real, it existed through us," Hough wrote about Harley, 8, and Lexi, 11. "My heart expanded and felt the truth of what is possible. I am forever grateful. Thank you for your love. Thank you for being my babies, my daughters. Thank you for choosing me."

The 31-year-old did not go into further details of the dogs' deaths and concluded the photos, "I’ve never experienced a love like ours. I miss you. I love you forever. Now you are free." Her husband Brooks Laich also posted a tribute to the couple's dogs, who he called "our children."

"Their tragic passing has left my wife and I heartbroken," he wrote. "Lexi and Harley were not just pets to us, they were our children, and we loved them as such."

Tributes flooded both Laich and Hough's Instagram posts famous faces and fans alike after they shared the news.

"There is no love like the unconditional love of our pets," wrote actress Mandy Moore.

Commented Laich on his wife's post, "They loved their mom as much as their mom loved them. You gave them the best life anyone could ever ask for, and thank you for sharing their love with me!"
