To Kendra Scott, jewelry is much more than something you wear: It's a way to tell a story and make a difference, as Scott has been known to do with her many philanthropic-driven creations.
The iconic designer, who has made a name for herself through her customizable and affordable statement-making pieces, is telling the story of strength and love through a whole new line dedicated to breast cancer awareness. Marking just one of the many initiatives propelled under Scott's leadership, the BCA line comes as no surprise to dedicated fans of the designer: Scott herself was just inducted to the Breast Cancer Research Fund earlier this year and has philanthropy rooted in her mission.
In fact, she's donated over $30 million to philanthropic causes and on Oct. 10 will be hosting the public at her SOHO store in NYC to meet with doctors and learn how to perform self-checks.
"Philanthropy has always been a core pillar of my business, with many of our philanthropic efforts focused in particular on health and women's issues," Scott explained to AOL Lifestyle.
"My dedication to breast cancer support is in part inspired by my dear friend Holley Rothell Kitchen, who lost her battle to metastatic breast cancer in January 2016. Holley was passionate about breast cancer research and education, so I want to continue her legacy by taking action, fundraising for critical research, supporting families of those affected by cancer and encouraging anyone undergoing treatment."
Scott is giving back to breast cancer awareness with a line that will donate 20 percent of proceeds to breast cancer awareness over the month of October. In addition, the butterfly necklace and charm give back 50 percent of proceeds all year long. Shop the stylish and mission-driven picks below!
