All of the outfits Meghan Markle has worn on her royal tour of Africa -- and where to shop them

Updated

One might assume that traveling as a royal is easy with all the help they receive from assistants, stylists and nannies. But you may be surprised to know that support on the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes' 10-day royal tour of Africa is relatively "light" and includes just an assistant, royal experts say. Much of the preparation comes down to meticulous, months-long planning with their team back in the UK.

Yet somehow, the Duchess of Sussex makes an 11-hour flight with an infant and four engagements a day look glamorous and easy. But it's nice to know that while her looks have been perfect to a tee, many of her outfits include pieces from affordable brands like Madewell, Everlane and Sam Edelman.

We're breaking down each and every look the duchess has worn on her tour below, and how you can shop the styles yourself!

Day 10

To close out the royal tour of the continent, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex first visited Tembisa, a township outside of Johannesburg, to learn more about the country's unemployment crisis. For the outing (which was packed with PDA!), the duchess opted for a white shirt dress by South African designer Hannah Lavery. She accessorized the look with Stuart Weitzman pumps and $22 Madewell earrings, which stores are having trouble keeping in stock!

Later in the day, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle paid a visit to Graça Machel, Nelson Mandela's widow, in Johannesburg. The duchess opted for a gorgeous blush-pink trench dress by Canadian designer House of Nonie, which she accessorized with tan Stuart Weitzman pumps. The dress is of special significance for the mom-of-one, who had previously donned the look last summer to mark Mandela's Centenary Exhibition and to meet with the late political leader's granddaughter.

Day Nine

On the ninth day of the royals' South African tour, Meghan visited the Association of Commonwealth Universities, of which is a patron, for a roundtable discussion.

The duchess, wearing a Double-Breasted Trench Dress from Banana Republic, looked radiant as ever on her solo outing. She finished off her look with nude Stuart Weitzman heels and minimal jewelry. She also kept her beauty look dialed down, with her hair in loose waves and wearing light, glowy makeup.

The duchess later stepped into a khaki green shirt dress by Room 502 and her signature Manolo Blahnik BB pumps (the fifth time she's worn the shoes on the tour!). It was a look that she accessorized with an evil eye bracelet.

Day Eight

On day eight, Meghan stepped out in Johannesburg to visit Victoria Yards. According to the Sussex Royal Instagram, Victoria Yards "celebrates the power of community, bringing local artisans and “makers” together to rebuild, support and learn from each other on a holistic level."

For the occasion, Meghan wore a navy blue shirt dress from Aritzia and a pair of Everlane's The Editor Slingbacks. The stylish red suede shoes have just shot to the top of our fall shoe wish list, thanks to the fun color (Meghan wore the shade 'Persimmon') and the elevated take on typical flats. Plus, unlike Meghan's go-to pair of Manolo Blahnik heels that cost over $600, these Everlane flats will only set you back $155. Shop below!

Day Seven

The Duke of Sussex was visiting the Nalikule College of Education in Lilongwe, Malawi, when Meghan Markle decided to surprise him on Skype. According to bloggers, the duchess was wearing yet another recycled look -- this time, an olive green linen caftan dress from Lisa Marie Fernandez ($595).

Day Four

While the Duke of Sussex continued his solo tours of Malawi, Angola and Botswana, the Duchess of Sussex stayed back in South Africa to tend to baby Archie. However, the duchess did conduct a few solo engagements of her own during her time in Johannesburg.

For a private breakfast held at the British High Commissioner’s residence in Bishopscourt with female South African activists, Meghan wowed in a $128 black and white flare skirt from J. Crew and her go-to Manolo Blahnik BB pumps in black suede.

Day Three

Day three kicked off with the help of baby Archie Harrison! The five-month-old made his royal tour debut in adorable $20 overalls from H&M to meet anti-apartheid activist Archbishop Desmond Tutu and his daughter, Thandeka Tutu-Gxashe, in Cape Town on Wednesday.

Meghan, wearing Club Monaco's Dremah Silk Dress (on sale for $230) glowed as she held Archie in her arms and introduced him to the notable leader.

Markle then stepped out to visit the Woodstock district of Cape Town to have lunch with an "inspiring female entrepreneurs who shared their passion for ideas, technology and making a positive social impact." For the solo outing, which hones in on the duchess' passion for women's empowerment, Meghan wore the $120 Japanese GoWeave Essential Jumpsuit from Everlane, Manolo Blahnik's iconic 'BB' heels and $200 gold earrings from jewelry designer Gas Bijoux.

Following her meeting with female entrepreneurs, Meghan visited the organization Mothers2Mothers, which supports women living with HIV and their families, to speak with its members and donated Archie's outgrown clothing for children in need.

"We brought some of the things that my friends and I used for our kids & Archie that he doesn’t wear anymore," she said. "It’s so important to share what has worked for our family to show we’re in this together.”

Day Two

The second day of the royal tour of Africa was packed with a fair share of protocol-pushing moments, including some PDA and a lot of denim. To meet with the NGO's Waves for Change organization on South Africa's Monwabisi Beach on Tuesday, Meghan Markle stepped out in a very casual denim look consisting of an $118 Madewell denim jacket, a white button-down, Mother Denim jeans and Brother Vellies Huaraches flats (we found a lace-up version on sale!). She paired the casual look with a $78 canvas tote, also by Madewell.

Later in the day, the mom-of-one joined Prince Harry for a visit with to Auwal Mosque in Cape Town, the first and oldest mosque in the country, wearing a traditional headscarf, a $325 maxi dress from eco-friendly brand Staud and $100 Sam Edelman flats.

The duchess then recycled yet another look from when she was pregnant with baby Archie during her royal tour of the pacific last fall: A gorgeous green dress by Australian designer Martin Grant.

Day One

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex received a very warm welcome in Cape Town on Monday morning to kick off their 10-day tour of the continent. For a day of meetings with Justice Desk, an initiative that teaches children about their rights and safety, Meghan opted for an $85 wrap dress from sustainable Malawi brand Mayamiko and $120 wedges from Castañer.

She later swapped into a blue Veronica Beard wrap dress for the occasion, one that she had previously worn on her royal tour of the Pacific last fall. While the blue dress is no longer available for purchase, we found the same style in red; it's on sale from Nordstrom Rack.
