Meghan Markle arrives in South Africa in $85 printed wrap dress

And the Sussexes have kicked off their tour of South Africa!

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex received a very warm welcome in Cape Town on Monday morning, where the couple is embarking on a 10-day royal tour of the continent. Baby Archie is also accompanying his parents on the trip, but will remain in South Africa with Meghan Markle while Prince Harry carries out engagements in Botswana, Angola and Malawi.

First on the couple's packed schedule is meeting with locals from the Nyanga township, where they are taking part in a workshop run by the NGO called Justice Desk. The initiative teaches children about their rights and safety, conducts self-defense classes as well as empowerment forums.

After dancing with the locals, the duchess, who wore an $85 wrap dress from sustainable Malawi brand Mayamiko and $120 wedges from Castañer, spoke to a crowd of teenage girls about women's rights.

"While I'm here with my husband as a member of the royal family, I want you to know from me I am here with you as a mother, as a wife, as a woman, as a woman of color and as your sister," she told them.

She continued: "You have welcomed us into this community, have been open and honest with us, both about the dangers women and children face, and about how you are addressing them. The rights of women and girls is something that is very close to my heart, and the cause I have spent the majority of my life advocating for because I know that when women are empowered, the entire community flourishes. So to be able to meet all of you today who are standing up for what's right in the face of adversity, I applaud you."

Next up for the couple is a tour of the District Six Museum and a community cooking class at the Homecoming Centre.
