NYFW: Marc Jacobs puts on whimsical vintage display at New York Fashion Week

Fashion Week went out with a bang on Wednesday night with Marc Jacobs closing out the industry's biggest week.

The iconic designer lit up the runway at the iconic Park Avenue Armory with layers upon layers of texture, vibrant coloring and an intense sense of nostalgia with his vintage-inspired looks. Taking the runway were iridescent pantsuits and gingham two sets, boho-inspired marigold maxi gowns, busy flour sack prints and -- the winner of the night -- a model dressed head-to-toe in petals, which elicited quite the gasp from the audience.

The accessories were equally as dramatic, too: Giant, butterfly sunglasses consumed the models' faces while sunhats topped off the whimsical spring and summer looks.

"As with closely guarded tradition, tonight is our reminder of the joy in dressing up, our unadulterated love of fashion and embracing grand gestures of unbridled expressions, reactions, ideas and possibilities," the designer noted in his show notes.
