Why Kendall Jenner isn't walking the runway for New York Fashion Week

We're more than halfway through the biggest week in fashion, and although we've recognized some very famous faces on this year's runway (Ashley Graham, Gigi Hadid, Lily Aldridge and Kaia Gerber to name a few), there seems to be one familiar face missing this season: Kendall Jenner.

For years, the 23-year-old supermodel has long been a fixture at New York Fashion Week, having modeled for high-fashion designers such as Ralph Lauren, Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors. But this year has marked the second year in a row she's skipped the NYFW runway.

“It’s a lot more mellow to just go,” she told Vogue during an interview at Longchamp's Spring 2020 show this weekend, “but I won’t lie, today I was missing it. I was watching the girls and I was like, ‘Damn, I kind of want to walk.’"

While the model did hint she'll be walking at Milan Fashion Week, she has previously opened up about her struggles with anxiety attacks when it comes to runway shows. "Last season I didn’t do any shows,” she said in an interview with LOVE magazine last year. “Just ‘cause I was working in LA and I was like ‘Oof, I can’t right now — I’m gonna go crazy.’ I was on the verge of a mental breakdown.”
