It's all in the family!
Princess Diana's 28-year-old niece Lady Kitty Spencer just channeled her late aunt while attending the red carpet premiere last week for La Vérité at the Venice Film Festival. Dressed in a black Ermanno Scervino gown and green emerald necklace, Spencer's elegant red carpet look is a spitting image of one Diana's most iconic: the off-the-shoulder Victor Edelstein gown she wore on a royal tour of Germany with Prince Charles in 1987.
Complete with her side-swept hair and statement-making jewelry by BVLGARI, photos of the model left royal fans doing a double-take. Social media was quick to call out the resemblance after Spencer posted a video of her look to Instagram.
"How beautiful as lady D😍" wrote one commenter. Said another, "Princess Diana would be so proud of you! Looking marvelous 👌."
Diana was very much a fashion icon in her own right, with off-the-shoulder silhouettes being one of her favorites. She also wore a similar look during a visit to the White House in 1985 in a midnight navy gown nicknamed "The Travolta Dress," because of the dance she shared with John Travolta.
Also designed by Victor Edelstein, the dress was later auctioned off in London for $362,424 in 2013. It was the top seller of the event, which in total included a collection of 10 of Diana's dresses. The auction garnered $1.2 million.
Spencer, whose father Charles was siblings with the late royal, has made quite a name for herself in the fashion world, modeling for luxury designers like BVLGARI and Dolce & Gabbana, amongst other high fashion brands.
"I appreciate that it takes me to new places and you get to dress up and wear beautiful things and live in a little bit of a fairy tale for a day," she said about her work.
