Katie Holmes hailed a NYC cab wearing a $520 cashmere bra

The first official day of fall is just around the corner, and as always, we're eager to take our sweaters out of storage and stock up on cute boots. Two pieces we didn't know we needed to add to our fall wardrobe wishlist, however, are the cashmere bralette and cardigan set Katie Holmes was recently spotted wearing.

While hailing a cab on Wednesday, Aug. 28 in New York City, Holmes wore the ultimate laid-back, yet sexy cool girl knit set by Khaite. The look—made with the Eda Bralette ($520) and the Scarlett Cardigan ($1,540), both in barley—was the perfect transitional outfit from summer to fall (and a great 'I don't care what my ex is doing' look).

The website describes the bralette (also available in other colors) as a pre-fall look for 2019 and says that it is "designed to be both layered and exposed. This seamed, soft-cup bralette is made of featherweight cashmere. Framed by ribbed trim and narrow straps, it is free of closures." In other words, it's pretty comfy.

The cropped cardigan with extra long sleeves comes with two patch pockets on the front, tortoiseshell buttons and is a mid-weight, soft cashmere that you could wear through winter.

Holmes paired the look with dark jeans, oversized black sunglasses and a black crossbody purse with a silver chain strap.

Fans went crazy for the look, calling Holmes a fashion icon.

Unfortunately, the barley knit look was so popular that it sold out in only one hour after the brand posted a photo of Holmes wearing it on Instagram, according to a Khaite representative who spoke with The Cut. The founder of Khaite and creative director Catherine Holstein told them that she loves cashmere, so she figured why not make a stretchy cashmere bra?

“I have been making cashmere bras for two years now and really believed that people would catch on eventually,” she said. “Thank you Katie!”

If you really love the look but aren't set on Katie's barley color, the bralette also comes in green and a few other colors.
