Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visit Nice, France with baby Archie

Updated

At only three months old, it seems like baby Archie is already a world traveler!

According to reports, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex embarked on yet another stylish weekend getaway with their new bundle of joy, this time to Elton John's residence in Nice, South of France. Photos of the couple's weekend vacation were published by The Daily Mail, which show Harry and Meghan arriving and leaving by private plane.

The Duchess of Sussex can be seen cradling Archie as Prince Harry follows behind.

Reports of the royals' three-day Mediterranean trip comes just a week after the family's very private weeklong vacation in Ibiza, where the couple is said to have celebrated the Duchess of Sussex's 38th birthday at a private villa. Both trips have garnered a fair share of criticism for the Sussex's lavish travels.

"Whether you think recent criticism of Harry and Meghan is fair or not it's worrying to me that they don't seem to care and aren't about to change their behaviour," explained royal watcher Phil Dampier to MailOnline. "They must have known that taking private jets four times in quick succession would leave them open to charges of hypocrisy but they just went ahead and did it anyway."

"Some families slave away all year to afford one nice holiday and they shouldn't be made to feel guilty about harming the planet when Harry and Meghan are swanning about in luxury," he continued.

However, Elton John has since come to the defense of Harry and Meghan following the recent reports by explaining he both covered the costs of the plane and ensured the plane was carbon neutral.

"I am deeply distressed by today’s distorted and malicious account in the press surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s private stay at my home in Nice last week," he wrote in series of tweets. "Prince Harry’s Mother, Diana Princess Of Wales was one of my dearest friends. I feel a profound sense of obligation to protect Harry and his family from the unnecessary press intrusion that contributed to Diana’s untimely death."

"After a hectic year continuing their hard work and dedication to charity, [my husband] David and I wanted the young family to have a private holiday inside the safety and tranquility of our home," he continued. "To maintain a high level of much-needed protection, we provided them with a private jet flight," he went on. "To support Prince Harry’s commitment to the environment, we ensured their flight was carbon neutral, by making the appropriate contribution to Carbon Footprint™."

Just a few weeks ago, Prince Harry was criticized for his Google Camp appearance, where he ironically took a private jet to join A-listers such as Barack Obama, Leonardo DiCaprio, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and Oprah Winfrey to discuss climate change.

The family (Archie included!) will next head to Africa this fall as part of the couple's royal tour, with visits to South Africa, Malawi, Angola and Botswana.
