A photo of three young siblings joining in prayer before their first day back to school went viral after their mother shared the touching image on social media.

Jamisha Harris took to Facebook on Aug. 5 after she captured a picture of her children, 10-year-old Eugene, 8-year-old Jorden and 7-year-old Emily, holding hands and praying before heading off to class at Idea Bridge Academy in Baton Rouge, La.

"This morning I’m feeling nervous and a little unsure but thankful, I pray for my children on their first day of school," Harris captioned the photo.

Local news station WAFB shared the image on its Facebook page, where it has since racked up over 7,500 reactions and more than 2,000 shares.

"Best picture I've seen on Facebook in a very long time!" one woman commented.

"The sweetest back to school picture I've seen," said another.

"Now this is how you bring in the first day of school..." echoed another user. "LOVE IT."

After the photo went viral, Harris explained to Fox News that she and her family have recently been down on their luck, with both her and her husband struggling to find work. The family also lost their apartment one day before the touching viral photo was taken.

"It has been very hard for all of us," Harris told the outlet. "And with all the tragedies events that have been occurring in the world lately, I feel nothing is safe for my children and we are praying because I am sending my children into this wicked world and mommy is not there to protect them."

"We pray for everyone: teachers, bus driver, friends, family members, we pray for a change and peace," she added. "They may have taken praying out of schools but not out of God's children."

Harris started a GoFundMe campaign to help her family get back on its feet. The campaign has already raised more than $15,000, well above its $8,000 goal.
