French's created a mustard ice cream and here's how you can try it

Last summer, an ice cream shop in Ireland created a ketchup ice cream flavor in an attempt to lure the condiment's super-fan Ed Sheeran in for a taste. Now, for no reason other than Aug. 3 marks National Mustard Day, French's is teaming up with Coolhaus to turn its hero condiment in to an ice cream flavor.

"As lovers of sweet-meets-savory, pure ingredients and unique creations, we are incredibly excited to be collaborating with French's Mustard in creating this one-of-a-kind product," Coolhaus CEO & founder Natasha Case said in a press release. "It's been so fun to explore this classic condiment in a whole new way and create an unforgettable thoughtfully-crafted ice cream flavor with an All-American taste."

According to Insider, who got a chance to try the goods, the ice cream basically mixes a base of cake batter ice cream and mustard and is "not nearly as bad as you'd think."

You can try it for yourself at Coolhaus's Culver City location, which will have the mustard ice cream available Aug. 2 to Aug. 4 and again Aug. 9 through Aug. 11. On the East Coast, the ice cream will be available in New York City. City dwellers can keep an eye out for the French's Mustard Ice Cream truck on Aug. 1 and Aug. 2. The truck will head to the Hamptons on Aug. 3. (You can see exactly where the truck will be traveling to here.) The scoops are served with a pretzel cookie on the side.

If you don't live in either of these locations, either thank your lucky stars that you don't have to be exposed to this debauchery or try making it on your own with French's official mustard ice cream recipe.
