Oreo teams up with Baskin-Robbins to release new mint chocolate chip cookie flavor

American's favorite ice cream flavor is now in cookie form! This week, Oreo released a new mint chocolate chip cookie in collaboration with Baskin-Robbins, and it's reportedly just as delicious as it sounds.

The Oreos feature mint creme and chocolate creme with small chocolate chips sandwiched between the original chocolate cookies. It's like a less messy and easier to transport, yet still ridiculously delicious bite of ice cream. They officially hit shelves this week at grocery stores nationwide and will be available for a limited time—just in time for National Ice Cream Day!

News of the exciting flavor was first announced in early June by Instagram user @CandyHunting, who received a sneak peek of the pack. The account revealed that they were initially worried that the cookies might taste the same as the already popular mint-flavored Oreos, but they assured fans that this was not the case.

"The cookies have a cool and refreshing mint flavor along with a creamy note and chocolate. They are spot-on mint chocolate chip ice cream. It's crazy!" the wrote in their post.

Snack blogger and Instagrammer Junk Banter added in its review that the new Oreos are even better than the mint ones.

"They’re definitely better than the regular Mint Oreos. The creme is sweeter and smoother, as the chocolate creme helps cut it to a less 'harsh' mint," they wrote in a blog post. However, they made a note that they wish the chocolate chips were more apparent.

"The problem is you can’t taste them at all. In fact you can’t even feel them; they’re completely indistinguishable from the crumbly cocoa wafers as you chow down."

Oreo also released new Marshmallow Moon cookies this week to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. The limited-edition cookies feature three moon-landing designs, purple marshmallow creme and glow-in-the-dark packaging. You can find them online at Walmart and in other grocery stores nationwide.
