Kate Middleton reportedly comforted Meghan Markle after Serena Williams' Wimbledon loss

It seems that the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex have a lot more in common nowadays.

Reports of feuds between the two were put to rest during a slew of recent royal appearances in the past two weeks, including baby Archie's christening, a visit to Prince Harry and Prince William's polo match and this past weekend's Wimbledon outing.

"Certainly Archie has brought them closer," royal expert Katie Nicholls told ET, adding that the two "will be certainly spending some time together over the summer." Their Wimbledon appearance, in particular, which marks exactly one year from their first joint outing, is evidence of their growing relationship.

Royal spectators have come forward with their observations of the two, noting that Meghan and Kate shared a touching moment after Serena Williams' upset. Meghan, who counts the tennis star as one of her closest friends, was comforted by her sister-in-law after her loss.

“Kate put her hand out and rubbed Meghan’s back to console her," an insider told People.

Commented royal commentator Victoria Arbiter, “It illustrated a warm relationship between these women who have young babies and are in similar situations in their lives."
