My Unique Home: This house was built by robots in 7 days

Welcome to My Unique House, a weekly video series that profiles the most unconventional homes around the country and their equally interesting owners. Check back next week for another wild story, from a mermaid-inspired bungalow, an old airplane transformed into the ultimate bachelor pad and an entire house dedicated to cats.

This Washington, D.C. home is sleek in design, fully soundproof and crafted with the highest-end materials. Oh, and it was built in seven days. By robots.

John Thompson, co-founder of Prefab Partners and the man behind Farmhouse Modern, explained to AOL Lifestyle how Aerospace Robotic Panelization is leading the way for architecture through the use of robots.

"We want every screw and every nail in the exact same place," Thompson told us. No matter if it's a luxury mansion or affordable housing, Prefab Partners is "able to deliver on that." The robots are even responsible for the home's unique interior aesthetics like pocket doors and expansive windows.

Electricians and designers come in at the end of construction to add their own personal touches and run electricity, but it's really the robots and expert programming that help build these homes from the ground up.

"Technology is changing so quickly that I don't see where the next frontier would be in regards to building," Thompson maintained. "But I really believe Aerospace Robotic Panelization is the future and is the way all homes will be built in the future."
