Kate Middleton paid a touching tribute to Princess Diana at Archie's christening

While some body language experts reportedly believed that Kate Middleton was "ready to flee" her nephew Archie Harrison's christening on Saturday, others noticed a slight detail in her ensemble that might prove otherwise.

What could be viewed as a sweet gesture of support for Prince Harry, the Duchess of Cambridge gave a nod to his late mother with her choice of earrings. The pearl earrings formerly belonged to Princess Diana, and were actually worn by her for Harry's own christening back in 1984.

This isn't the first time Kate has channeled Diana's style or subtly honored her with jewelry. The duchess famously wore the same earrings, along with a favorite piece of Diana's, the Lover's Knot Tiara, to a State Banquet in October 2018.

Diana wore the two pieces together on several occasions herself, including trips to the British Embassy in Washington D.C., Hong Kong and Italy. According to Royal Watcher Blog, the pearl earrings were a wedding gift from Collingwood jewelers in London. The tiara was a wedding present from the queen.

For Archie's christening, Kate also donned a pink Stella McCartney dress with a trendy Juliette Botterill headband and red pumps.
