Kate Middleton makes surprise appearance on Wimbledon side court during day two of Championships

WIMBLEDON, England -- If spectators had their binoculars ready for a Duchess Catherine sighting in the Royal Box at today’s Wimbledon Championships, they might have found themselves disappointed to find out that Kate was in fact watching a match at a side court for general ticket holders!

After a formal announcement from the Royal Palace that Kate would be attending the tournament on July 2, the duchess surprised public ticket holders by sitting in the back row at Court 14 to watch Christina McHale vs. Harriet Dart.

The duchess stunned in her signature blowout and an elegant white, three-quarter-sleeved dress by British label Suzannah, decorated with a black Alexander McQueen belt with a bow and darling black buttons. She was seated alongside Britain's Fed Cup tennis players Anne Keothavong and Katie Boulter.

She also donned classic black pumps, a matching Alexander McQueen clutch and Ray Bans, perfect for a day full of sporting activities.

The Duchess is expected to attend the Championships throughout the day’s high profile matches and players at Center Court, namely Roger Federer and Serena Williams.

Middleton, an avid tennis fan, was named the official patron of the All England Club in 2017, taking over the position from Queen Elizabeth II.
