Marilyn Mansfield isn't your average homeowner. Instead, the Staten Island woman is known to share her home with dolls -- a lot of them, in fact. Although she's unsure of the exact number, she estimates that she has collected around 500 dolls throughout her life.

"I've had dolls my entire life," she told AOL Lifestyle. "When I was seven or eight, I had received a doll and I just fell in love with [it]. I took it everywhere with me -- from there, it just progressed."

In addition to collecting the toys, Mansfield started making her own dolls about 12 years ago. An intricate process consisting of multiple steps, many hours, paint brushes and heat processing, the mother's creations range from realistic babies to a replica of her daughter to Ellie, a love doll that's become Mansfield's favorite.

"Give me a doll and I'll give it a life," she concluded.
