14 therapy dogs that helped Parkland students and staff get their own page in the yearbook

Everyone that worked hard at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, was featured in their yearbook – even 14 therapy dogs that kept students company during an incredibly difficult year.

Chief McAlpin, Sophie Levy and Molley Heller were some of the very good boys and girls that got their own page in the yearbook, highlighting the great work the pups did.

“I hope all students and staff enjoy the yearbook as we worked really hard on it,” senior Natasha tweeted along with a photo from the yearbook. “I hope the cute doggos making a feature makes everyone smile.”

The therapy dogs provided comfort to students and faculty in the year and a half following the February 2018 shooting that left 17 people dead and 17 more injured.

"After the shooting we wanted that yearbook to be perfect and had to cover as much as possible,” said 17-year-old Caitlynn Tibbetts, a junior and the soon-to-be editor-in-chief of the yearbook, in an interview with BuzzFeed. “This year, we wanted to give proper representation of our school and who we are now without giving so much focus to what happened to us in the past. The therapy dogs are the one thing from last year that is permanent and positive."

The therapy dogs had participated in several events over the year, including school photos and even posed for a cute promposal.
