Royal baby name revealed: Meet Archie

Welcome to the world, Archie!

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have named their firstborn Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, it was revealed on Wednesday just hours after he introduced to the world at St. George's Chapel. The newest royal was born on Monday, May 6, weighing 7lbs, 3oz. Prince Harry was by Meghan's side, as was her mother Doria Ragland.

The royals revealed the details in an Instagram alongside a photo of the newborn meeting his great-grandparents Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip and grandmother Doria.

According to reports, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have "not elected" to give Archie a formal title at this time.

Archie is seventh-in-line to the throne, behind dad Prince Harry, and is the fourth grandchild for Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall. He counts Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis as cousins.

Despite his famous lineage, the royal will have a notably different upbringing than his Cambridge cousins. Like Prince Harry and Prince William's cousins Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, Archie will enjoy the perks of being part of the royal family, but "do not serve the crown day-to-day and are permitted to pursue independent careers and charitable causes."
