Bridal Week: Morilee by Madeline Gardner takes inspiration from the great outdoors

Models walked down the runway at Morilee by Madeline Gardner in dresses that glistened rather than glittered, thanks to carefully placed beading. The fall/winter 2019 collection, which Gardner referred to as "desert dreams," was inspired by her love for nature and the outdoors.

"I love the beach, I love sand, I love the mountains, so I really wanted to bring all of those beautiful tones and colors into the fabrics and the layering of the dresses, and also into beading designs," she explained. "I love how light reflects off of things [and] you get that sparkle. But it's really unique. It's not that super glittery look—it almost looks like a ray of sunshine."

Many looks also featured big lace designs; lace accented the hem of some gowns, while it framed the body of others. Gardner explained she spent a lot of time looking for the perfect and most special laces for her gowns.

Models also donned head pieces featuring crystal flowers that hung down behind their heads over loosely braided updos. The final look of the show was the only one to feature a long veil, but it still sparkled with rhinestones carefully placed on the edge of the fabric.
