New York City's new Hudson Yards makes a grand entrance

On Thursday night, a few lucky New Yorkers got the first taste of the brand new Hudson Yards.

Located in Manhattan's Midtown West area, Hudson Yards is practically a brand new neighborhood comprised of stunning residences, shops, restaurants, a hotel, an observation deck and public gardens. According to Hudson Yards' website, it is "the largest private real estate development in the history of the United States" and "includes more than 18 million square feet of commercial and residential space, more than 100 shops and restaurants, The Shed, 14 acres of open space and the world’s first Equinox Hotel®."

To say this is big deal would be a vast understatement -- Hudson Yards has without a doubt changed New York's skyline.

Open to the public starting on Friday, March 15th, visitors can now come visit Manhattan's west side and never really have to leave.

The VIP Opening Event held on Thursday was definitely a party for the books. Celebrities like Anne Hathaway, Andy Cohen and Arianna Huffington walked the red carpet, while guests were treated to drinks and light bites from several of the new restaurants, including those run by world-class chefs. Guests mingled with champagne glasses in-hand as they walked through all of the stunning new retail shops. Some stores opened their first New York locations, and we're happy to report that NYC finally has a brick and mortar Neiman Marcus.

The next time you're in the city, you're going to want to make time to stop by Hudson Yards.
