7 things to do in Salt Lake City, Utah

Hit the slopes

Whether you head to Snowbird, Atla, Brighton or Deer Valley, you will be in a skier/snowboarder's paradise. With tons of fresh powder and unparalleled views, hitting the slopes is a must. If you're not overly confident on the mountain, no worries, you can easily sign up for a lesson with the pros

Visit the Subaru Winterfest at Snowbird

While Subaru's Winterfest only happens once at year at Snowbird, this traveling festival stops by all of the major mountain towns in the US, bringing skiers and snowboarders an incredible concert experience, merch giveaways, winter activations and demos and, naturally, free perks for Subaru owners. If you missed the Winterfest this year, you're definitely going to want to plan your next trip around their 2020 dates.

Visit the Great Salt Lake

Whether you want to camp by the lake, take a scenic bus tour or just walk along the banks, seeing the body of water (and wildlife refuge) that the major city is named for is not something you'll want to miss!

Spend a few hours in Park City

If you don't mind driving about an hour away from SLC, you can visit the beautiful mountain town of Park City! Walk up Main Street, ski at Deer Valley or visit the Kimball Art Center to experience a smaller town vibe.

Ride a tram all the way up to 11,000 feet

If you visit Snowbird, you have to take a ride on their Aerial Tram with breathtaking 360 degree views. In just a few minutes, you make your way up the mountain to the summit where you can get off and ski or snowboard all the way down -- or you can grab a bite at the cafe and take the tram back down.

Shop at the City Creek Center

If you've had enough of the mountains and want to walk around the city, head to the City Creek Center. With over 100 shops and restaurants, the whole family will be able to find something that interests them.

Explore Big Cotton Wood Canyon

All outdoor enthusiasts will feel right at home in Big Cotton Wood Canyon. Hike, drive around or set up an utterly picturesque picnic in this stunning canyon that is located in the Wasactch Mountains.

While taking an Aerial tram or getting a ski lesson is an essential part of any Utah trip, this winter we had the chance to travel with Subaru to experience their Winterfest first hand and it was definitely the highlight of our weekend-long adventure. From the live concert experiences (including a VIP Tram jam) to the product demos and insane giveaways, if you can get out to one of the mountains that the Winterfest travels to, we can't recommend it enough.
