Great Dane gives birth to 19 puppies by C-section in Arizona

That's quite the litter!

One Great Dane is making headlines after welcoming 19 (!) puppies on Saturday. According to a post by Kingman Animal Hospital the puppies were delivered by Caesarean section. Eleven of the Arizona animal hospital's staff members were on hand during the emergency, according to Facebook.

"Thank you all for the kind words and congrats to the momma dog and our hard working staff that came in for this emergency," wrote the hospital in its announcement, which included photos of the newborn litter.

While the normal litter size for a Great Dane is around eight, all of the puppies, and their mom are healthy.

"Congratulations to everyone on a terrific job," wrote well wisher on Facebook. Said another, "That is definitely puppy overload. They are beautiful." For more on the heartwarming story, watch the video above.
