Meghan Markle had a total 'Gossip Girl' moment while in NYC and no one noticed

Meghan Markle is currently in New York City for her baby shower and everyone is freaking out. That is, except for the people at the Met Breuer, apparently.

The Duchess of Sussex made the trip to visit with her girlfriends — Jessica Mulroney, Serena Williams and Amal Clooney to name a few — who are throwing her a baby shower at The Mark Hotel on the Upper East Side today. The trip marks the duchess' first visit to the states since her marriage to Prince Harry in May 2018.

In between dinner at Ralph Lauren's The Polo Bar and today's shower in The Mark's $75,000 per night penthouse suite, Duchess Meghan found time to visit a nearby museum on Tuesday.

Paparazzi snapped plenty of pictures of Meghan and her former "Suits" co-star Abigail Spencer leaving The Mark, but according to the Daily Mail, the pair were headed to the Met Breuer for lunch. The Met Breuer is a modern and contemporary art museum and is part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (you know, the one Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen frequented on "Gossip Girl?").

Once inside, the duchess reportedly toured some of the art galleries, but ultimately decided that the lunch spot was too public with its big windows. She stayed a total of 30 minutes and then moved across the street to have lunch at the Surrey Hotel.

However, during that initial 30 minutes, Cosmopolitan pointed out that not one regular museum goer snapped any photos — no Instagram stories, posts, tweets, nothing. Remarkably, the duchess went completely unnoticed.

So, either everyone inside was frozen with shock and couldn't pull their out phones or no one was expecting to see the duchess stateside and figured huh, that woman looks a lot like Meghan Markle. Either way, we don't know how she did it. But Upper East Siders, let it be known that the duchess is here and you're going to want to keep your phone an eye out.
