Meghan Markle is reportedly learning HypnoBirthing ahead of her due date

Updated

Meghan Markle is just trying to focus on staying calm and positive leading up to her due date, something that's probably easier said than done when you're the Duchess of Sussex. To help, the mom-to-be is reportedly planning for a natural delivery and receiving acupuncture and practicing HypnoBirthing.

According to a source close to Vanity Fair, “Meg wants a natural birth if she can have one. Her mother is very into anything that is holistic and natural, and having been brought up with yoga and mindfulness, it’s all very much part of Meghan’s birth plan."

HypnoBirthing is a birthing technique that's used to help with pain relief during delivery. It was created by a respected hypnotherapist at Harvard with the view that both the mother's body and the baby's body were made to go through the birthing process. Therefore, through practiced deep breathing, visualization and meditation, the mother can train her mind to go into a deep sense of relaxation during delivery. According to Parents, mothers using the practice report feeling "surges" or "waves" of pressure rather than intense contractions.

Meghan is also said to be receiving regular acupuncture treatments from celebrity acupuncturist Ross Barr and plans to use the method up to her due date. It was reported that both Meghan and Harry visited Barr's clinic before their wedding last May.

Last week The Sun shared that the duchess is also using a doula to assist her during her pregnancy. The doula is also coaching Prince Harry on ways to support his wife during labor.

Baby Sussex is due this April.
