The celebrity wedding trend poised to be huge in 2019 is also super budget-friendly

Celebrities: We know 'em, we love 'em and yes, OK, fine—we tend to copy 'em. Which is why it's no great surprise that last year's most A-list weddings set the stage for 2019's biggest wedding trend.

Yup, while Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas's modest four(!) weddings might suggest otherwise, 2018 was without a doubt the year of the secret elopement.

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth finally tied that knot with an intimate ceremony at Miley's childhood home. Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber snuck off to NYC's city hall to seal the deal. Barbara Bush and Craig Coyne secretly celebrated with family at the Bush compound in Maine. Michelle Williams and Phil Elverum stole away to the Adirondacks to say yes. We think it's safe to say that the new way to do a high-style wedding is with a chic, low-key elopement—and the data agrees. So whaddaya say, gals—shall we skip the feuding bridal parties, seating chart snafus and exorbitant invoices? Hey, if it's good enough for young Hollywood...
