Donald and Melania Trump’s 2005 wedding cake hits auction block
A party favor from Donald and Melania Trump’s wedding is currently for sale. The parting gift, a small chocolate cake, was reportedly given to guests at the couple’s 2005 nuptials in Palm Beach, Florida, and now it’s being auctioned off for more than $260, though it’s ultimately expected to sell for several times that.
Described by RR Auctions as a “sought-after souvenir wedding cake from the multi-million-dollar wedding reception of Donald Trump and Melania Knauss on January 22, 2005,” the small confection is only about three inches high three inches in diameter. It was designed to be a smaller version of the pair’s seven-tier wedding cake, which reportedly weighed an estimated 200 pounds and cost around $50,000.

The bigger sweet treat, which was a yellow sponge cake, was reportedly “flavored with orange zest, filled with buttercream, soaked in Grand Marnier and adorned with 2,000 individually constructed sugar-spun flowers.”
Like the larger version, the individual chocolate truffle dessert also features “sugar-spun buttercream” but is adorned with a single white rose surrounded by gold flakes. What’s more? The cake meant for one comes in its “original off-white paper box,” which has the letters “M D T” monogrammed in gold. Per the auction listing, the box is in “very good condition” with scattered stains.
The listing also notes that this miniature pastry is exactly like the one that was given to various famous faces and other guests who attended the now-president and first lady’s wedding over 15 years ago. The star-studded guest list included Rudy Giuliani, Heidi Klum, Diddy, Shaquille O’Neal, Simon Cowell and Trump’s future presidential opponent Hillary Clinton, who was a senator from New York at the time.
However, while RR Auctions estimates this piece of presidential history will sell for more than $1,500, the 15-year-old food item has only received four offers thus far and the bidding is currently at $267. The minimum bid was $200.
