Throwback beauty: How to get classic Farrah Fawcett curls at home

There's curls...and then there's Farrah Fawcett curls.

Although we lost the "Charlie's Angels" star in 2009 after a long battle with cancer, she remains every bit iconic to this day -- specifically, her beauty looks continue to be a catalyst for many of the trends we've seen. Most recently, Connie Britton gave us major Farrah Fawcett-vibes with her curly locks at the Critics' Choice Awards. And we're positive that similar looks will take over this year's awards season.

Fawcett's trend-setting hairdo was the work of renowned hairstylist Allen Edwards. Her feathered waves revitalized the beauty game, a feminine alternative to bouffants and afros, which HuffPost maintains were two of the most requested styles at the time.

"The layers around the face are shorter. What made it different was that it wasn't full on top," Edwards said, according to the publication. "It was flatter, and the 'Farrah' part was the edges, which went flipping back."

With the style poised to make a comeback, we chatted with master stylist and co-founder of Warren Tricomi Salons Edward Tricomi, who worked at the salon that was responsible for bringing the feathered look to New York City. Here's what he said about copying the look at home.

1. Spritz dry hair with hair spray and hot tools spray ($20, Amazon).
2. Take a 2 inch-section of your hair and your curling iron. Start at the top of your head and slide the iron down, turning it so the curl is going back away from your face and repeat the process on the rest of your hair.
3. Once you have the desired volume and curl, you should spray with the Flexible Hairspray to hold in place but still allow for some bounce and life.

"You can also achieve the Farrah Fawcett curl using blow dryer and a round brush by brushing out to get the curl," he said.
