Best Dressed of the Week: January 16th

Last week's Golden Globes and this week's Critics' Choice Awards kicked off awards season in the most fashionable way yet. But now that we're in awards season limbo -- the SAGs are the next biggest show taking place on January 27th -- it seems that red carpet season has slowed down quite a bit, for the time being at least.

All though we haven't had that many celebrity sightings this week, the ones we did see made up for the lack of Hollywood news. A few unexpected trends are worth a callout -- emerald purples, classic blacks and whites and muted pinks taking over the red carpet in high fashion.

The Critics' Choice Awards, unsurprisingly, featured some of the best looks from the week. Julia Roberts (in Louis Vuitton), Mandy Moore and Regina King (both in Michael Kors) splashed the red carpet in edgy sartorial looks. Kaley Cuoco, too, wowed on the red carpet in a custom J. Mendel dress, complete with intricate beading and a plunging neckline.

Amanda Seyfried and Saoirse Ronan opted for light pinks for their respective premieres, as Penelope Cruz sizzled in a red sequined Galvan number.
