McDonald's is now adding bacon to the Big Mac and its fries

Instagram food trends come and go, but one forever fan-favorite is bacon. According to McDonald's, "bacon" has been mentioned on social media at an astonishing rate of 740 times per hour over the past yea. So, finally, the chain is bringing it to their menu with three new menu items.

On January 30, you can able to treat yourself to a Big Mac Bacon, a Quarter Pounder Bacon and Cheesy Bacon Fries. The upgraded Big Mac and Quarter Pounder will each pack three pieces of thick cut Applewood smoked bacon, while the fries will be topped with cheddar cheese sauce and smoked bacon bits.

Unfortunately, the new legendary menu items will only be around for a limited time at participating restaurants, so mark your calendar.

“As a bacon enthusiast myself, I’m proud to say that we’ve done right by bacon fans and I can’t wait for our customers to try these classics with delicious, thick cut Applewood smoked bacon for themselves," Chef Michael Haracz, McDonald’s Manager of Culinary Innovation said.
