Grande-ing is the newest dating trend we can totally get behind

It’s safe to say 2018 has seen its fair share of weird dating trends: orbiting, Gatsbying, and yes, holidating. But one that doesn’t make us want to eat our feelings in the form of Domino’s: Grande-ing.

Inspired by Ariana Grande’s earworm of a ballad “Thank U, Next,” Grande-ing means not feeling sorry for yourself after a breakup, and instead embracing the newly single you.

Yep, according to data from dating app Plenty of Fish, 50 percent of singles have made a point to do this heading into 2019. And we’re totally on board.

Instead of wallowing for months on end (although, you’re totally allowed to have a pity party for as long as your heart desires), just rejoice at the thought of all the free time you’ll have for *finally* reading Big Little Lies (it’s been on your nightstand for more than a year, for goodness sake), the journal you vowed to keep but never opened, bingeing The Haunting of Hill House or all the fancy dinner recipes you’ve bookmarked but didn’t have a chance to make (because of, ya know, the Domino’s).

So, 2018: Thank you, next.
